October 2007
We played with the idea of getting together for December 19, at the Brunswick but decided that we needed more time, each of us individually to deal with life issues that could not be shelved, and also to reconceive our creative enterprises. Magdalena R's CD is now out - Mandy is still working on her book of writings, and Magdalena P wants to develop some ideas for voice and accordion.

So, this means that Mandy and the Magdalenas will not be hoisting a Cafe Noir on the 19th of December. Do watch the space under Concers, though - we will let you know what will be taking place instead of M+theMs.

Summer 2007
Right now, we are having a break - Mandy to work on her book of poems, Magdalena P to recover her health in time for the start of her final year at the School for Alexander Technique, and Magdalena R to continue her varied musical career with her other bands and the launch of her new CD.

May 2007
We were part of the Brighton Festival Fringe, with three Cafe Noir evenings in May.

Exhibition of Cafe Noir by Brighton Photographer and film maker Petra Creffield, throughout May, upstairs in The Sanctuary Cafe, 55 Brunswick St East, Brighton.

In this body of work, Creffield has attempted to come to grips with the challenging experience of photographing live performers. She has tried to look beyond the facade, to find the moments when the performers become unaware of their own self image and reveal something of themselves to the lens.
She has been documenting Cafe Noir since 2005 - a monthly event which regularly sells out due to its massive popularity. The exhibition aims to give insight into the lives of Brighton's glamorous underground performers.
